Hello Marlis - Thanks for taking the time to respond to my message re: the PERET family.
Yes, I am related to Margaret A. PERET. She would have been my 3d-great grandmother. Most everything I have about her was derived from Federal and Kansas State census research. From that, I show she was born Apr 1828, in either Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana or Missouri, depending upon census. I suspect she was most likely born in Pennsylvania, or in Indiana, however, and then removed to Missouri, and finally, Kansas, where she died, date unknown.
She married David DABLER 01 Sep 1850 in Wayne Co., Indiana. I show nine children for the couple. My ancestor was their daughter Anna Maria DABLER who married Fredrick FRYMAN.
As to others I believe were her siblings, I connected them as candidates based on their proximity to her in later years, and the similar migration patterns. I show Augustus S., Victor N. and James W. as probable brothers, and a female who married a John A. SMITH as a sister. I know of no others. All of the probable brothers served in the Civil War, and I have viewed their pension cards or files. I was also able to locate a very informative online biography for Augustus S. PERET, which revealed the parents of this proposed family group to have been Victor PERET and Anna DISCHMACHER, who lived in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania and Wayne Co., Indiana.
I would be especially interested to know if you have any family papers, photographs, or further information on the PERET, DISCHMACHER, or DABLER families. You may e-mail me privately if you prefer.
