Louisiana is one of those places that has been governed by people that speak different languages.If the guy writing down the name was Spanish - you got a Spanish name.If the guy writing down the name was French - you got a French name.
You see John as Jean, Juan, and Jehan.But, remember the childhood song "Frere Jacques" is translated into "Brother John", so I guess John could also equal Jacques.
Jacques usually translates to Jack or Jacob, but I've also seen it to mean James, which has no direct French equivalent.
So, Pierre means Peter, or probably Pietro in Italian.
Francois is Francis, or Francisco in Italian.
And Jacques would be Jacob, or Giacomo in Italian OR Giamo if we're assuming the English is James.
So, your guys would be Pietro and Francisco Giacomo whatever...
