I've been kinda watching the Yarbroughs because they seem to pop up in places where Lees lived.Specifically, James Smith Yarbrough was in proximity of one of my ancestors, John Lee, in Iberville Parish in the 1810 timeframe. There are Lees and Yarbroughs that intermarry in Anson Co, NC in the middle 1700's, and (kinda, via a common related family) in the Felicianas. But I've found no definitive connection to my family, and I've been proven via DNA testing to be unrelated to the Anson Co, NC Lee line.
Here's some tidbits for you:
James Yarbrough is in the 1820 Feliciana Parish census, in the Comite District.Dunno if this is your boy.Stephen and Lewis Yarbrough are also there (Pretty Creek District). At this time James Smith Yarbrough is in Iberville, or had moved on to Plaquemines Parish...
Quote from a Yarbrough researcher (I don't have the name or email address, sorry): "At this time, we know that 3 brothers, James b. ca 1775 m. Grace Harris [YOUR BOY], Lewisb. ca 1785 m. Henrietta Phelps, and Stephen b. ca 1790 m. Elizabeth Phelps moved from GA to LA." [So it sounds like the James above IS your boy...].
I've seen some records that say that the Lewis mentioned above was born in MS, but they might mean the MS Territory, which could also be interpreted as GA, depending on the location and given the timeframe.I've also seen Stephen listed as b. MS, and Lewis as b. LA.Lewis apparently married twice more.
That's about all I have that might be useful...Good luck.
