It's hard to say if there is a connection or not.I have so little to go on with this line of the Cooks. He was in Hammond, LA.Supposedly he was born in Mississippi and his father was born in Illinois.I had an Aunt Helen that passed away quite a few years ago that said that as a young boy, Ora Cook went to see an Aunt "Flo" in Illinois around Danville or Rossville. Also, this line of Cooks were of the Catholic faith. Ora could have converted in order to marry or he could have been raised Catholic. I did a timeline of things I did know and it seems that nothing but tragedy occurred in this family.Out of the 7 children that came from this union, it appears that my father Roy Lee Cook is the only one that had children that are still alive. My father was only 5 years old when his father Ora died. I have located an Ora Cook on the 1900 Census living in Indiana very near the Illinois-Indiana border. He has the correct month and year of birth, but it says he and his brothers Homer and Luther and his Mom, Ella Jenkins (says she was widowed) were all born in Indiana. It also stated she had given birth to 6 children, 5 of whom were still alive. Another note, 1 of my Father's brothers that died at the age of 15 was named William Rechinis(not sure of this spelling)Cook. There was Charles Emery Cook, Helen Louise Cook, Marie Violet, and then my Father Roy Lee.The 1st child born was Ora Alfred, supposedly names after his Grandfather. If you recognize any names or places or still there might be a connection, please contact me directly at Natasha4BB@aol.com.Thanks again for replying.
