The wife of Charles J. Anderson, Herbert's son, was a daughter of:
3132. JAMES ROBERTSON
James Robertson b. Birch Hill, Lot 49, PEI 17JUL1853 (11AUG1854 in 1901, AUG1852 in 1911), baptized Free Church of Scotland by the Rev. D. McDonald 21SEP1853, d. Birch Hill, Lot 49, PEI 29JUN1931, m. 31AUG1875 Caroline Jenkins (b. Birch Hill (Greek River, Lot 63, Kings Co., PEI), Lot 49, PEI 12JUN1854 (20JUN1855 in 1901, JUN1855 in 1911, ca. 1856), baptized Free Church of Scotland by the Rev. D. McDonald 8OCT1854, d. Pownal (Mount Albion, Lot 48), Queens Co., PEI 17FEB1930), d/o Thomas and Sarah Jane (Gray) Jenkins.
In Lot 49, Queens Co., PEI in 1881 James Robertson was age 27 years, b. PEI, a farmer and Church of Scotland. Caroline was age 25, b. PEI and also Church of Scotland. They lived with his James (69) and Mary (64) Robertson, his parents; and also in the household were possibly an uncle, Thomas Robertson (71), a merchant, and probably a sister, Ann Robertson (25) . Their children were Isabella (4) and Alice (JUL1880).
James (40) and Caroline (35) lived with his parents, James (79) and Mary (74) Robertson in Lot 49 in 1891. Next door were Richard and Hannah Jenkins with a widow, Eliza Gray (b. England ca. 1805, parents b. Scotland), possibly connected to Caroline's mother.
The Prince Edward Island Baptismal Index gives James' wife as Caroline Jenkins, and lists some of their children. Most if not all of the baptisms were likely performed by the Rev. J. Goodwill of the Church of Scotland. Generally, Birch Hill is located in Lot 49; but seems to overlap into Lot 48. For example, in the 1901 census, James and Caroline Robertson were in Lot 49, Queens Co. East, PEI. James was b. 11AUG1854 and Caroline was b. 20JUN1855. In both cases, these dates-of-birth contradict baptismal records; and I would think the baptismal records are more likely correct. With them was a daughter, Mertie A. (9JUL1880), and other children: William C. (17AUG1882), Venettia M. (14MAR1884), Annie (20APR1886), Everet C. (18JUL1888), Hyrum (24MAR1893) and Campbell M. (17FEB1896).
They were also in Lot 49, Queens Co., PEI in the 1911 census.
Other information is found in the on-line version of the IGI.
I got here searching for Charles' family and so far have:
31321. MARY ISABELLE (ISABEL) ROBERTSON
Mary Isabelle (Isabel) Robertson b. Birch Hill, Lot 49, PEI 9SEP1877, baptized Free Church of Scotland 15SEP1878, m. Medfield, Massachusetts 23JUL1896 Charles J. Anderson (b. Worcester, Worcester Co., MA APR1876), s/o Herbert W. and Mary E. (Gallagher) Anderson.
James Heber Anderson (b. 10JUL1897, baptized Church of Scotland, Birch Hill, Lot 49, PEI 29JUN1898, was the s/o Charles (?????) and Isabella (Robertson) Anderson. This is not in the PEI Baptismal Index, but at Kathie Sencabaugh's transcription of, "Church of Scotland Register of Baptisms for Birch Hill and Murray River", at:
I do not find them in the 1901 census, so suspect they were not in PEI for that census.James Anderson b. 10JUL1897, d. West Springfield, Hampden Co., MA 12FEB1990. His Social Security Number was issued by the Railroad Board suggesting he worked for a railway.
Isabelle is said to have m. 1896 James Anderson. However, in the 1900 census of Worcester, Worcester Co., MA Isabella M. Anderson b. "Pr Ed Island" SEP1876, parents b. PEI, m. ca. 1897, was the wife of Chas Anderson (b. MA APR1876) who's father was from New Brunswick and whose mother was from Rhode Island. Children, in 1900, were Herbert J. Anderson (b. MA no date) and Annie M. Anderson (b. MA FEB1899). Herbert J. appears to have been the James Heber discussed above.
In Grafton, Worcester Co., MA in 1910, Charles I. Anderson (b. MA ca. 1876) had a father b. Canada and a mother b. Rhode Island. Isabella (b. Canada ca. 1878) was the daughter of Canadian parents. She was described as a 'matron' in a household of a number of 'inmates'. Charles is a 'worker' so she seems to be in charge. Their son, Herbert J. (ca. 1898) was b. MA.
In Plymouth, Plymouth Co., MA in 1930 Isabelle M. Anderson (b. Prince Edward Island Canada ca. 1877) is a servant to Robert R. and Marion F. Perry.
For Charles there are possibilities. In Worcester, Worcester Co., MA in 1880 were Herbert Anderson (b. Canada ca. 1851) and Mary (b. Ireland ca. 1853) with Charles (4) and Sarah (2), both b. MA. In 1910, Herbert W. Anderson (b. Canada ca. 1850) lives with his daughter, Mabel A. Dunn (23), her husband, Milton I. Dunn (30), their son, Waldo and Milton's sisters in Worcester. In Worcester in 1900 Herbert W. Anderson was b. Canada MAY1849. A widower with three children, Sarah J., George W. and Annie M., his father was b. Canada and his mother was b. Ireland. Herbert is said to have been born in Nova Scotia.
