Since almost half the population was comprised of Quakers, I can understand why many of them would move to OHIO as the war of 1812 got going. I'm finding this as I transcribe the N. vital records. I also noticed quite an exodus to Hudson, NY after the Revolution, and learned that the Nantucketers were nervous that the British weren't altogether trounced, and would come back and try again.Being 30 miles from the mainland, they were nervous, so they found a place up the Hudson River from which to launch their whaling expeditions. I also found a cemetery in Hudson, NY (which I'm going to transcribe as well) with the some names that are common on Nantucket but few other places. But....where in Ohio did they go in apx 1812, and how did they get there?Anyone have background on this?
