This is a situation where the use of published vital records is vital.
I find no record at Scituate of the births of John or his siblings.
John, son of Elisha Besby, was baptized 21-Dec-1645 in the Second Church of Scituate (later the First Church of Norwell) [Scituate VR 1:34]. Scituate VR also shows the baptisms in the Second Church of John's siblings Elisha, Hannah, Hopestill, Martha and Mary. Note that the mother's name is not given in any of the baptismal records.
Note that some writers have asserted that Elisha Bisbee of Scituate was a son of immigrant Thomas Besbeechof Cambridge, Scituate, Duxbury, Sudbury and Marshfield, but recent research has shown that to be impossible.
I know of no research establishing the origin of Elisha.
I find no record at Scituate of the the marriage of Elisha Bisbee or of his son John.
John Besbey and Joanna Brookes were married 13-Sep-1687 at Marshfield [PCR 8:89]. They had the following children born at Marshfield: Martha, John, Elijah, Mary, Moses and Elisha [PCR 8:89]; Aaron and Hopestill [Marshfield VR 44-45].
