True could very well be possible it's hard to say without a birth record. It can be confusing sometimes as many families choice the same name over and over for their children. I have seen that with both sides of my family. It becomes even harder when three generations choice the same name then throw in a few children and grandchildren with the same name. True Count was old enough,22, when Henry would have been born. Perhaps he was born in Ma, although I haven't seen any records to indicate this. If, say, he was born there they only do census every ten yrs. Perhaps the Count moved to NY before the next census. Although it's only speculation. But the same could be true in NY as well. They weren't so good at keeping birth records recorded then.Nor have I seen a marriage record for Henry and Lydia. Those records usually list parents, although not always.
The IGI on family search is usually pretty accurate since those listings come from actual records but yes you have to be careful about submitted ones. I think one of my biggest pet peeves about doing genealogy is that a lot of people don't bother to check dates before they post or submit family trees. Granted mistakes are made but I have seen a lot of people,a few recently in the Hastings line, list children without even noticing to see that the kids were born after a parents death. The descendants from Henry's line you spoke with couldn't offer any clues to Henry's parentage?
