Richard came to Maryland on the ship St. George, which departed from Waterford, Ireland in 1677. His name appears on the list of settlers that had sailed on this ship and the list was presented to the Secretary of Maryland as an application for land warrants in payment for passage, Nov. 1, 1678. Richard disappears from MD records at this point. Information points to Richard being Irish. Most of the Ready clan came from county Kilkenny, very near Waterford, Ireland. He was likely to have been an indentured servant since he received no land but traveled under the land warrant of the captain of the vessel. Nothing is known of his life prior to leaving Waterford. He had at least three sons, Nicholas, Patrick and Cornelius.Any information would be greatly appreciated.
