Your Benjamin Davis, b. 1712 who m. Mary Phillips may be the Benjamin Davis who m.Mrs. Mrs. Hannah Davis and moved to Loudoun Co., VA. Take a look at ChrisH's post of 29 Nov 2008 on the Davis GenForum board # 39143.Also see Will of Benjamin Davis on Loudoun Co., VA GenForum # 1499 Benjamin, m. Mrs. Hannah Davis about 1751 and the family located in Loudoun Co., VA. They were parents of Abel Davis, b. 1764. Abel Davis m. Mary Huffman < 1790 and located in Monongalia Co. VA.They had a son John Davis [1800-1882]who stated to 1880 Census taker in White Co., IN that his father (Abel) was b. in MD. ChirsH shows that Benjmin seemingly had two families.First family included Abel Davis, b. 1738; Joshua Davis, b. abt 1840 and John Davis, b. abt 1742.At this point there is no proof that Benjamin was b. in PA altough such claim is made in IGI and repeated in Davis Clearing House REF # 6651. However, Abel Davis, b. 1738 appears in tax rolls of Loudoun Co. of 1761 as a male over 16 years of age residing with Benjamin. 1761 may be of Benjamin's arival in Loudoun Co., and is the date of Benjamin's Fairfax grant in Loudoun Co. Isaac Davis [1807-1878]s/o Abel & Mary Davis, m. Mary Phillips, 20 Nov 17, 1827 in Champaign Co. OH or White Co., IN. Mary Phillips [1807-1891]is thought to be d/o Ephraim & Sarah Phillips.Abel d. testate naming his son Isaac as his sole heir. Abel's will, however, stated, "I do hereby make, ordain, constitute and appoint m esteemed friend and neighbor, Joseph Phillips, sole executor of this my last Will and Testament." Also note that Benjamin Davis was said to have been b. in 1712. If this interests you please contact me.
