The Coller Cemetery -- containing Collar/Coller descendants from the area and their spouses -- is in Northfield, Mass. and is located in the southeast corner of Northfield, near the junction with the towns of Warwick and Erving. You will find it on Coller Cemetery Road, off Orange Road, which becomes Quarry Road as it heads down through Warwick towards Route 2.It is not easy to find.Well actually, it is not hard to find with directions - but I would advise stopping in town and asking someone.
It is nestled by itself in the mountains and is not in a heavily residential area.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission (617-727-8470) has compiled a transcript of the names and dates on the tombstones, map showing arrangement of same, and description of the burial ground.I have a copy of this document, which was given to me by another Collar researcher.
On a visit to the cemetery in February 2000, I transcribed some of the inscriptions of the gravestones, and corrected what I believe to be one or two small errors (or omissions) in the Massachusetts Historical Commission record.
