I am looking for ANY information about the Todd family of Dorr, Allegan County, MI.Alanson Todd, b. 1820 in NY, married (1) Hester Frary in 1840 in Lenawee Co., MI; she died in Ionia Co., MI in 1860, (2)Mellicent (Melissa?) Jane Raymond in 1860 in Lenawee Co., MI; she died in Ottawa Co., MI in 1867 and (3) Rhoda Jane Bailey in 1867 in Kent Co., MI.
Alanson Todd and 3rd wife, R. Jane, bought 15 acres of land in Dorr in 1872.Alanson's eldest living child from his 1st marriage, Samuel W. Todd, bought 5 acres of his dad's land in 1873 in Dorr.On 28 Aug 1875, Alanson sold 7-1/2 acres of land to his wife, R. Jane Todd, for $1.00 and "good consideration" and the other 7-1/2 acres to his son, Samuel Todd. There are no more deed records for Alanson after that date.He would have been 54 years old.Samuel stayed in Dorr a few more years and acquired an additional 80 acres of land in two deed transactions. In 1882, R. Jane (now Carlisle), of Osceola Co., MI, sold Samuel her 7-1/2 acres of land.I checked the 1880 Michigan Census, and found R. Jane had married David Carlisle and they were living in Hartwick, Osceola Co., MI.WHAT HAPPENED TO ALANSON TODD???WHEN AND WHERE DID HE DIE AND WHERE WAS HE BURIED???Also, what happened to David and R. Jane Carlisle after the 1880 Michigan Census? They also disappear.
I am hoping to find (1) a marriage record for R. Jane and David Carlisle and (2) probate records for Alanson Todd.
