I am trying to determine what happened to George Lucien POLLEY after his wife remarried. He was born in 1866 in Hickory Corners, Michigan where he married Minnie Elizabeth BAIRD on November 28, 1889 at the age of twenty-three. Minnie was born in Cedar Creek, Michigan to Samuel BAIRD and Clara TOWNE on January 5, 1873. George moved to Rochester, New York where he is listed a boarder at 69 Gibbs Street in 1898. On March 28 of that year they had a son, Ronald Wilbur. George is listed as a salesman in the 1898 Rochester City directory. In 1900 they rented a house at 211 First Street in Olean, New York. He lists his occupation in the 1900 Federal Census as "com. traveller." Minnie and Ronald returned to Michigan and lived with her mother in Howard City in 1904. There is a listing for a George L. POLLEY in the 1920 census in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio. His age is listed as 49, wife's name is Bertha and his parents both born in New York. This would give him a birth year of 1871. Minnie remarried to Carl J. CUTLER of Sheridan, Michigan on September 26, 1906. The marriage certificate lists her as a resident of Howard City, Michigan at the time of the marriage but does not list her as a widow or that she was divorced. Carl and Minnie ran a store in Sheridan. Her son Ronald attended school there. They adopted a daughter named Francoise. Minnie died in Sheridan September 27, 1933 at the age of sixty.
