Thanks for the info!!!! I have to get back to the courthouse and ask specifically for her with all the spellings, etc. I haven't been able to find any of the family on the 1860 census--even used the census index provided by a guy from Huron County at the Mich. State Lib.I'm wondering if the township or area was so new it got missed entirely. There were very few if any Polish names in the indexes and Paris Township was formed right after the census. Did you know that the Polish that were there refused to go to the Civil War when they were drafted?I want to get up to the Bad Axe library and see if they have any articles covering the refusal. She's not on the records for St. Stan's or St. Pat's and I could not locate either hers or Andrew's grave at St. Anthony's.A kind woman found Andrew in their records but not Catharine.Perhaps she is up at St. Valentines with her brothers.
Anyhow, many thanks for your help!!I appreciate it very much!!
