I don't know if this will help or confuse, but I was trying to find out more about Charles Titus and found major discrepancies.
First, I found the marriage of Charles A. Titus to Mary B. Dishaw (not Disheau as indexed) on May 5 1914. Note that a witness to the marriage was Margaret Dishaw. But, in the 1910 census Charles Titus had been married to a Maggie for 10 years and he claimed it was his 3rd marriage and her 2nd marriage. I was not able to find a marriage to Margaret or Maggie about 1900 for Charles Titus. But I did find three other marriages for him.
April 27, 1889 he married Lora M. Christie at Paw Paw, MI. He claimed to have been born about 1862 in Connecticut.
May 12, 1896 he married Josephine Peterson at Roscommon, MI. He claimed to have been born about 1864 in Massachusetts.
Aug. 27, 1899 he married Julie B. Vitter in Roscommon, MI. He claimed to have been born about 1865 in Massachusetts.
In all four of the marriage records he is said to be the son of Robert Titus and Sylvania Mack (or other variations on her surname.)
I did find Charles in the 1930 census living in Chelsea, MI with his wife Margaret. This time he claimed to have been born about 1863 in Michigan.
Are these all the same Charles A. Titus?
I've also found the marriages of three Titus children - Ethel, Harrie and Gerald Alfred and two of the Hutchinsons - Willie and Roy.
Please contact me directly if you are interested in more details as most of this is not related to Bay County.
