I'm having no luck at all tracing obituaries.I'd like help please...
Chester H. Freeman, b. 2-22-1822, Williamstown, Oswego County, NY; d. sometime after he appeared in 1900 Census in Bay City, MI, and before his wife Ellen O. (Davis) Freeman died in Bay City on May 5, 1902, since her death cert shows her as widowed.
I have had no luck at the LDS pilot site or at SeekingMichigan, although I'm not adept at using either of those sources, so he may be there!
I'm reasonably sure (but no further) that he may have died in Bay City, MI, since he shows up in that city's census as far back as 1850, and his wife died there, but I can't be 100% certain.
My main reason for looking for the obit and the death cert is that either of them may be a clue to his parents' names.I know his dad was Samuel and was born in Nova Scotia, from two entries for Chester in histories of Bay County, but beyond that I'm drawing a blank.
He was prominent enough throughout his legal career in Bay City that I'd be surprised if some newspaper doesn't have something about his death, but so far I haven't found it.
