Briefly, I did find him in the 1920 Federal US Census in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, MI, at age 28.This Elmer was b. in CA, with both parents b. in CA.He is living with spouse Goldie.They were renting their dwelling.She is b. PA with father b. PA and mother b. OH.He is noted as a "Sargent" at "Camp Custer."She is a laborer in a factory.

In 1930, a close match is found in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.B. about 1892, he was a prisoner in the county jail.Age and birth place a match, his father is noted here as being b. in Nevada and mother in CA.
In the same 1930 US Census Goldie is living in Battle Creek still with
David Webster 24 Violet Webster 19 Goldye Rickey 38 -- Mother in Law Divorced
David and Violet are newley married, with ages at marriage the same as their natural ages.Violet is Goldie's daughter, but notice that Violet is not in the 1920 Census.
