Thanks, Jack.I, too, had found the 1920 and 1930 Census entries you mentioned.I had not found the 1930 enumeration of Goldye as mother-in-law to David Webster.Therefore, mention of Elmer and Goldye's divorce is new info to me.
I wrote to the Montogmery Co. Jail and received a reply back that they do not have the archives and a referral to the County Archivist.No follow-up, yet, with that.So the "Why?" of his incarceration eludes me.
