Looking for information on/connection to my husband's great uncle Howard Carbis. All we know about him is the following.
Howard was born in c1890 in the Parish of St Just in Penwith Cornwall to William and Mary E. Carbis.Other siblings included-
William born c1886 Henry born c1893 Richard born c1895 James born c1898 Ada born 1902
Howard arrived in America on 8 August 1920, aged 32 years. From the Ellis Island site I have found that he said he was joining his brother-in-law John Branwell, 1211 Fairview St: Murray Hill, Flint, Michigan. (This address appears as 1311 on his wife's later entry into America.)He gave his father's address in the UK as Lower Trewellard, Pendeen.
His wife, Ethel, arrived in October 1920 with their 3 children, Gladys 9, Eileen 5 and Thelma aged 9 months.Ethel stated that she had been in America previously from 1910 to 1914 staying in Michigan. She gave an address of an aunt as her next of kin in the UK, Mrs L. Thomas, 11 Pleasant Row, St. Just.
We know no more of Howard and his family after they left for America.Any information, no matter how small would be appreciated.
