For 6 years I have been searching for the parents of LIVIUS TENNY.I have a Kalamazoo obituary and Civil War pension records that say he died JANUARY 24,1894 IN the city of Kalamazoo. The Kalamazoo Clerk's Office and Lansing do not have a death certificate filed under that spelling.I called the clerk's office volunteer helper and they said they were too busy to look under mispellings such as Denny, Fenny, Jenny, Kenny,Lenny, Penny, Renny or Senny or any other mispelling.
There is a notorized declaration in his pension file that a death record does exist.Adolph Hochsteus (sp?) Kalamazoo City Health Officer, in a notarized PROOF OF DISABILITY form of 2-8-1894, said Livius Tenny died Jan(uar)y 24, 1894.The form is quoted as follows- “In the matter of claim for pension of Frances A. wid. of Livius Tenny, personally appeared before me, a Notary Public in and for said County and State, aforesaid Adolph Hochst(issi ?spelling?) a Physician aged 48 years, who being duly sworn, declares in relation to said claim that he is health officer of the city of Kalamazoo, Mich and finds records on the books of said office that Livius Tenny died Jan(uar)y 24, 1894. …
