He In July 1779 a party of 90 Indians and Tories under Brant attacked and burned a village in western Ulster County.A band of 75 militia men under Col. Benjamin Tusten persued and engaged them.But the Americans were ambushed and badly defeated; 45 of them were killed including Col. Tusten and Eleazer Owen.
