I am looking for ANY information about the Todd and/or Carlisle family of Dorr, Allegan County, Michigan and Hartwick, Osceola County, MI.
Alanson Todd, b. 1820 in NY, married (1) Hester Frary in 1840 in Lenawee Co., MI; she died in Ionia Co., MI in 1860, (2)Mellicent (Melissa?) Jane Raymond in 1860 in Lenawee Co., MI; she died in Ottawa Co., MI in 1867 and (3) Rhoda Jane Bailey in 1867 in Kent Co., MI.
Alanson Todd and 3rd wife, R. Jane, bought 15 acres of land in Dorr, Allegan Co., MI in 1872.Alanson's eldest living child from his 1st marriage, Samuel W. Todd, bought 5 acres of his dad's land in 1873 in Dorr.On 28 Aug 1875, Alanson sold 7-1/2 acres of land to his wife, R. Jane Todd, for $1.00 and "good consideration" and the other 7-1/2 acres to his son, Samuel Todd.There are no more deed records for Alanson after that date.He would have been 54 years old.Son Samuel stayed in Dorr a few more years and acquired an additional 80 acres of land in two deed transactions.
The 1880 MI Census showed R. Jane and David Carlisle have with them Alanson Todd's youngest daughter by his 2nd marriage, Mary Eudora "Dora" Todd, born in 1866 (so, age 14 in 1880).They also have the two daughters with them the two daughters from Alanson's and Rhoda Jane's marriage, Nellie Todd, born in 1868 (age 12) and Rosa Todd, born in 1870 (age 10).David, R. Jane and the girls are living in Hartwick, Osceola County, Michigan in 1880.In 1882, R. Jane Carlisle, of Osceola Co., MI, sold Samuel, her stepson, her 7-1/2 acres of land.Does anybody have ANY info on this family/families?
