Carl Zotter, 75, of 1909 Military Street, died today in Mercy Hospital after a long illness. He was employed by Port Huron Paper Company for 27 years until his retirement.He attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Third Order of St. Francis and the Legion of Mary Auxiliary. He was born April 23, 1893, in Graz, Austria, and came to Port Huron in 1929. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Josephine Zotter; three daughters, Mrs. John Simpson Jr., Saginaw; Mrs. William Moses, Mt. Clemens and Mrs. Sherman Selden, Rochester, NY.; three sons, Carl J. Zotter, Midland, Mich.; Edward J. Zotter, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Walter J. Zotter, Mt. Clemens; a brother John Zotter, Port Huron; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Ropposch and Mrs. Mary Bauer, both of Port Huron, and 19 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Church, Rev. Robert B. Koenig, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home.
