Looking for information on or descendants of George & Leticia PARDY-PURDY. George was a mason born in Ireland about 1816 and died in Ontario (possibly McGillivray Twp, Huron Co.) sometime between 1863 & 1871. George's wife Leticia was born between 1823 & 1827 either in Ireland or Ontario. According to the census records, George & Leticia had at least 8 children, all born in Ontario: Sarah Jane (born 1847-1850); Elizabeth (born 1850-1852); Leticia Jr. (born 1854-1855); Matilda (born 1857); George Jr. (born 1858-1859); Matthew (born 1859-1861); John (born 1865); & Alfred (born 1863). George & his family owned land in McGillivray Twp, Huron Co., ONT (later Middlesex Co.) between at least 1851 & 1878. As of 1871, George's widow Leticia & son George Jr. were living in Biddulph, Middlesex Co., ONT. It appears that George Jr. and other descendants of George Sr. & Leticia immigrated to Sanilac Co., MI sometime in the early 1880s. I believe that George PARDY-PURDY Sr. may have been related to my gg grandfather Samuel FLANNERY, who immigrated to Huron Co., ONT by the mid-1850s and later immigrated to Sanilac Co., MI by 1880. Sam FLANNERY was baptized in Clonfert Parish, County Galway, IRE in 1829 and I believe his parents were Ann PURDY and William FLANNERY.I also believe that the connection between the PARDY-PURDY family and the FLANNERY family in Ireland goes far back and is quite extensive. I'm hoping to determine what (if any) the connection exists between this George PARDY-PURDY and my FLANNERY line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
