Solomon Sly by Great-great-granddaughter Noreen Frizzell Clark. (Published in a Biographical found at the library in Brown City.)
Solomon was born in 1794 in New York. He fought in the war of 1812. Later he moved to Ontario, Canada. He was convicted of Treason in Canada during their Patriot War and told to leave Canada. Solomon moved to Sanilac County. He bought land in Worth Township in 1848. (Section 22, Town 9, Range 16.) In 1872, he bought land in Section 20, Town, Range 16. Solomon had 10 children. His son Thomas had bought land in Sanilac Co. in 1846. Solomon and some of his other children now moved here, also. The beauty and peaceful countryside must have pleased him, and he lived here until his death.
Sly, Thomas; Father Solomon Thomas was born in 1818 in Ont. Canada. He mary Amy Johnston, born in Canada. He bought land in Lexington Township in 1846 Section 34, Town 9, Range 16. In 1873 he bought land in Section 17, Town 13, Range 16. Children that were born in Worth Township: Rufus, Rosetta, Frederick and Matilda. Thomas died 1902. Amy died 1883.
