As a hobby, I rescue old photos that have identification on them. This photo, is probably by far, one of the more interesting ones.
The subjects are identified as:Edward and Lydia A. Rice. They're older, he's sporting a gray beard and she appears to have graying hair.Information n the back is as follows:
"This card will show that we have lived and died. Photo taken in 1891 Edward Rice, died at March 19th, 1895 of paralysis.Born in Lyons, Wayne Co. NY 13th of Sept 1815. 'Born again' 1857 'Praise the Lord' baptized by Rev. P. Van Winkle in Abion 6th of April follwoing the name of the Lord is a stron tower. Lydia A. Rice born in Genesee Co. NY in 1829-'Born again' at eleven years of age.Remember to enter the service of the Lord in the days of thy youth. All that read this if ye have not done it already.Lydia A. Rice. Amen"
Later, someone in a differnt hand, wrote along the side, "Lydia A. Rice died Sat. June 11th, 1898".
This came to me from an auction in Michigan, other photos in the group sported photographers locations from Albion and PawPaw, MI.So these might be a clue as to family locations.
I only ask what I paid for it, postage and the expense for a sturdy mailer.
