Searching Family in Denmark and the US!!!I hope you're out there!
My great-grandfather on my mother's side was named Peter Paul Nelson – b. June 21, 1882 [or June 22, 1881], Svendborg, Denmark.Original records may exist for Peder Paul (Poulson?) Nielsen, but perhaps also Nelson or Nielson. He was married to an Elizabeth Moulton from Oronoco Township, MN, and they lived together in Olmstead County, MN where he ran a successful farm implement business. While we have all information since his wedding, we have nothing else prior to that (except for a date/location of birth). We are looking for info on his many brothers and sisters, as well as parents, as follows:
We are pretty sure that the name was changed to Nelson from something else…most likely Nielsen, but I cannot find any more clues regarding his siblings or his parents (and as you can see, we are not even sure that "Peter Paul" is the original spelling...).Everything in parentheses represents the “most likely original spelling” in Denmark, or assumptions as to what their real names were.Back then, everyone called each other by a nickname, and unfortunately, this is all coming from the memory of my mother, when she was a child in the Moline, Illinois and Rochester, Minnesota areas during the 1940's and 1950's.
Siblings of Peter Paul Nelson (all assumed to have birth dates between 1862-1902):
Anna (Ane) [eventually married Peterson] Nels (Niels, Nils) Gen (Jorgen) Rasmus Johanna [eventually married Sevenson] …and up to five other unknown sisters!!!
Parents also unknown.
If you have ANY information that might lead me to discovering all this information, I would be so thankful!!!
