Hi - yes, a fabulous family history! Here's a response...
> "I will share all of this information with my Grandpa. You've given us sooooo much information, and I greatly appreciate it!" <
Great! And, you're welcome!
> "So, just a recap. Alfred Callais was the father of George Sylvester Callais." <
I think so. Not proven - but likely. Would be good to have:
* marriage record for Alfred Calais and Victorene Christop * birth certificate for George Sylvester Callais * obit for George or either parent * marriage certificate for George and Edith (might name his parents) * death certificate for George (might name his parents; the version I posted is just an online condensed version)
People usually need to order a copy of the original records to get all the information available. There's usually a small fee involved. You don't need all these records - we would hope that one of them would show the proof.
> "[George] fathered Luella Callais (my great grandma]" <
> "and [Luella] birthed my Grandpa Francis J. Miller Sr." <
I didn't look this up - but I certainly believe you, lol
> "Luella's mother was Edith Marie Parker." <
Yes. See birth certificate comment above.
> "..and Edith's parents were Cyrus and Dora?" <
Yes. This is proven. Cyrus F. Parker's obituary (posted earlier) says he has a daughter "Mrs. George Callais." It also says Cyrus's wife is Dora Edith Gibbs. We are making a reasonable judgment that Edith is the biological daughter of Dora.
Again - records such as birth, marriage, or death record would be nice to have for each individual. Original records tell more than the condensed versions online.
I'm curious whether your Dora is truly the child of Elizabeth Wells and John Gibbs. I think so. More work needed on that.
