i am searching for information on John Quirk and his wife Catherine/Sarah Stanners. They lived in Will Co., Illinois, before moving their family to Polk Co MO. John Quirk who may have lived in the Chicago area in 1855. He married Catherine/Sarah Stanners in about 1858, and they had a son John, also daughters Anna Jane, Mary Ellen, Margaret, Emma and Catherine. Emma was my ggrandmother, and stated she was born in 1865 in Lockport, Will Co., ILL.Catherine/Sarah died when the family lived in Nodaway, Polk, MO, in 1879 and the family splintered. They had a strong tie to the Chicago and Will Co. area, before and after they lived in Missouri. I would love to share information with anyone who may be connected to my Quirk and Stanners families. they were staunch Catholics and very involved in the Maryville MO church. John had three siblings, James, Peter and Mary, all single, who farmed in Maryville. Peter went back to Ireland in the 1870's for a visit "for his health", died in Ennis, and his siblings sent the local priest to bring his body back to Maryville for burial. When the three siblings (all but John) moved back to Illinois (Henry County) they had Peter's body moved once again. The three siblings and their niece, Emma, are all buried together in the cemetery of the church they left their farm and all their estate to, in Henry Co.
