I am trying to find the parents of John F Price. From Census data he was born in Kentucky 1838-1843.He married Sena Dunnegan in Gainesville, Ozark Missouri, 1861.He is found in the 1870 Ironton, Iron County MO Cencus with his wife Cena and Children. In the 1880 Census, he is found in the census with his wife, children (including Samuel J. Price) and his brother Monroe, born 1864 in MO.
John was buried about 1907 with his wife in the Loftus Cemetery, Ozark, MO.Unfortunately no dates are on the tombstones.I have not been able to find any death records of either Cena or John - apprently MO didnt start requiring death certificates until 1930.
This would suggest that John's parents moved to Missouri between 1840 (John's birthday) and 1864 (Monroe's birthday). This would suggest that John's parents would be around in 1860 and possibly 1870. It is possible that his parents died prior to 1880. Based on John's age, his father would be at least 18-20, or born between 1818-1826 and possibly older.
If this is correct, I need to find someone who is a male, born in KY, and born prior around 1820+/-5 as the father of John F. and Monroe.
I have had no luck finding this person, nor was I able to find Monroe. This could be perhaps a middle name - James perhaps?
I have a death certificate of Samuel J. Price (26 March 1865- 27 August 1943) that indicates his father as John Thomas Price born in TN, and his mother as Sena Dunnigan, also born in TN.
I have been trying to track John Price - he is an absolute Ghost. All the census data indicates John F Price born in KY. Could there be a transcription error and it is really John T Price? Could he be from TN and not KY? Anyone have any suggestions?
This may explain why I have not been able to find any records of him before his marriage.
