I research HUFF in Cass County.CRANE intersects with HUFF and there is an article of a David CRANE, I believe he was an actor and there was connections to the HUFF, WALDRON lines.I found this information and family trees deposited in the Wilson Library in Decature, Van Buren Co, MI (just north of where many HUFFs lived in Volinia, Cass Co. MI.) Whoever did the research also had photos included. It's a nice bunch of information. (Hope I got the name of the library right.)These HUFFs and CRANEs are in Hunterdon Co. NJ also.
These are not my lines.
In Cass Co. over the years, if you check the different census's some HUFFs were from Kentucky and some were from Butler, Ohio, by way of Northumberland, Pennsylvania > Hunterdon, NJ.
I don't hold the information but other extensive HUFF researchers have informed me that the Kentucky HUFFs can be traced back to New Jersey. My Huffs had neighbors that were the Kentucky line.
My HUFF line is: Anthony, Hunterdon, NJ, Anthony Jr. Hunterdon, NJ (d. Northumberland, PA), James b. Hunterdon, NJ (d. Butler Co. Ohio. later uninterred and reburied in Crane Cemetery, Cass Co. MI). Isaac HUFF b. Hunterdon Co. NJ, married Josephine Affantranger in Crawford Co .PA, went toVolinia, Cass Co.Both Isaac and Josephine are buried in Anderson Cemetery, Van Buren Co, MI.Daughter Harriet Huff, married Smith Thompson in Kalamazoo, son Frederick b. Volinia, married Sarah Jane Dennis in Newaygo Co MI.daughter Margaret Harriet Thompson, my grandmother.
I will share information and hope to find answers to some more of my Cass countyquestions. Kathy
