In Cass paper Jan 31 1884 page 4, Sarah Hayden, wife of James Rose, died at their residence after a brief illness and was buried yesterday, she leaves on child which will for the present reside with her grandmother mrs. James Boyd.death certh certicicate 26 years TB, parents Plarry & Electra Hayden.
I noticed that there was building in cassopolis with Hayden name on it, maybe an ad, it has been quite a few years ago when I was there. It was raining heavy that day and we did not look for Sarah's grave. For some reason I think it was with other Hayden's not Roses. Most of the Roses had no stones.I think she has a stone. There at Prospect Hill.Sometimes walking the cemetery will help with family reletionships.
James was brother of my great-grandfather and none of his descendants living in IA seem to recall any contact with Edna.Sorry I am not much help.Hayden's seem to be better off than the Roses. Edna probably was much better off staying with grandmother than going to IA with her father.
Did I send you the information I had on Edna?I have a letter she wrote to my grandfather, after she was married to a Jess Brown. They had 4 chiildren. The letter is dated 1915.
I also have picture of her.Let me know if you are interested.I had forgotten about having this material.
