I was born in St. Johns, and my cousin is Doris (Page) Weiber on the Sheldon side of the family and she lives in St. Johns.
The Macumber name sounded familiar, and that is why I answered your message -- and I have several transcriptions of cemeteries in Clinton County.A Richard McUmber married my mother's cousin, Marcella (Hygema) McUmber. The history of his family is not documented well.Marcella was the daughter of Frances (Shuster) Hygema, the sister of my grandfather, Carroll Shuster.
Speaking with my mother, she says that it was difficult for Richard to research his ancestors, for reasons unknown to our family.
I hope you find this as interesting as we have.
My son, Donald (age 13) has a striking resemhblence to my grandfather Carroll Shuster.Carroll was subject of a train / auto accident in September 1958, in Clinton County, just one month after I was born.My father and I visited that railroad crossing site this past summer, as well as several cemeteries in the area.
