I was just in Clinton County in August for purposes of research. Some questions...
You're asking whether Franklin Jones (b. around 1843 ?) was married in Ohio?Do you have any additional information about his spouse's name or the area in Ohio you are researching?
He is easily located in the 1860 US Census in Ovid, MI,(information you probably have). How about 1870/1880?Have you located him in these Census records, and do you have the locations?
There is a fairly new memorial in St. Johns and it lists the names of Civil War soldiers.I was not able to make it to St. Johns (my birthplace) but a relative from Elsie sent me photographs of the monument showing one of my "MEAD" cousin veterans. On the photograph, it shows two "JONES" names but unfortunately the given names are cut off at the edge of the photograph! So, you may want to find out if one of those might be Franklin's name.
I apologize in advance for all of the questions, but maybe I can help more if I know his whereabouts in 1870 or 1880 and/or spouse's name. Thanks.
