Our family ancestors are in various cemeteries in Clinton county, and our family recently received transcription books of several cemeteries carefully compiled by the Elsie Historical Society. Please email me...
We have a favor to ask, and this may be a good project for someone on a weekend. If someone has a good 35mm camera and would be willing to take a few photographs for us, we would appreciate your time (and I will pay for all associated costs).
FILM & EXPOSURE: I would recommend Kodak 400NC, which is a professional grade film. Please expose at 320 ASA although the film is rated at 400. This slightly overexposes the film and provides richer colors when printing is adjusted (unknowingly) at the lab. Also, a tripod is recommended, and perhaps an "assistant" would be helpful -- to hold a large white reflector just outside of the frame, like a white sheet for example.
In the Elsie Village Cemetery, there are three SHELDON ancestors buried there:
Dorothy Lucille (marker?) b/d 17 Jan 1922; parents Vernon B. and Nellie (Page) Sheldon (my grandparents). A location is not given in the book although the marker, if there is one, might be in section 249.
Elizabeth, age 23 years, 3 months, d 16 Sept 1884 there is a marker in section 249.
Rebecca L. 1839 - 1915, same section apparently no marker. Not sure of relation.
Also, we are interested in obtaining a death certificate for Elizabeth, above. Again, we will pre-pay any associated costs.
If you are also interested in expanding your photographic "assignment" we have many more relatives in several area cemeteries.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. Please email me at email@example.com if you are interested. I will leave a follow-up when I make a good contact.
Jack Sheldon (surnames: SHELDON, PAGE, SHUSTER, OVERPACK, McCARTHY, MEAD, RICE, LARKINS, and many others).
