Thank you for your very kind offer...Actually I am seeking information that, perhaps, only the caretaker might know. The following is the story, actually quite interesting...
Our family has a number of different surname ancestors in this Riverside Cemetery, located (as you know) just outside of Elsie. The Page families in this cemetery are directly related to our Sheldon family through the marriage of my grandmother Nellie Page (1890 - 1973) to my grandfather, Vernon Sheldon.
Driving on Ridge Road, before the sharp turn into Upton Road, there is a driveway into the cemetery. If one were to take that driveway they would see the Mausolieum directly ahead.Just inside the cemetery to the left (section 2) is where my g-grandparents, Reed and Mary Page are at rest and some of our other ancestors.
The Mausolieum is on the right side and just before hand, on that same side, is Frank Page buried with two children Clyde and Leafy (all three on one headstone).I would say this is about three or four rows of headstones toward Ridge Road from the Mausolieum. To the left of their headstone is Ray Begel and Nellie (my grandmother) on the same stone.Nellie's d. date is blank, and she is actually at rest here in Mesa, Arizona not far from my home.
When Ray was buried in about 1948, there was some talk about where Nellie was going to be buried eventually, because remains were found at Ray's burial, and those remains are "unidentified."However, my grandmother told stories that the remains were that of another brother, according to my mother. We are unable to locate her brother Reedie (I believe Reed Jr.) and we think that this may be where he is at.Houghton Mortuary oversaw Ray Begel's services.
There is more, but this is enough for now.We have photographs of the headstones, and it would be nice to find the caretaker.
Thanks for listening to our "story" and we hope you have a safe trip!
