Still searching for FREEMANs in MS. My gg-grandfather was William C. FREEMAN, b. in 1833 in MS. It was possible that he was of Choctaw heritage. He owned land in Lincoln Co. from 1859-1876. He married Martha L. SIRMAN (also of Choctaw descent) in 1866. She was the daughter of Peter SIRMAN. William C. and Martha left Brookhaven, MS in 1876 by wagon train, heading to I.T./OK. William C. may have been a son of John and Mary (SMITH) FREEMAN who lived in MS in various counties (Amite, Copiah, Franklin, and Lincoln) throughout the 1800s, but this is not confirmed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
