Through some recently discovered obituaries, we are able to put together the following information.
Gordon Raymond (1873 - 1953) of Olivet, MI m. Nina M. Sheldon (1880 - 1911) daughter of Frank M. Sheldon and Sara Elizabeth "Libby" Letts.Gordon "Pete" and Nina Raymond were wed on October 5, 1898, and are now at rest in Bosworth Cemetery, Walton TWP, Eaton County, MI.
Gordon and Nina gave birth to 5 children, one dying at 2 days old (d. in Partello July 7, 1899 -- possibly in Partello Cemetery?), and another one in its young infancy (died in Marshall in April of 1912, who was being cared for by Herman Marks family since the death of her mother).Three grew and married: Marguerite m. Richard Kinney, another married Donald Lashbrook, and the third married Richard Potochi.
[Note: Gordon Raymond was b. July 13, 1873, in Partello, Lee TWP, Calhoun County, MI.He was the son of George and Melvina (Sanders) Raymond.Gordon's sister-in-law Agusta E. Raymond, was the Partello correspondent for the Olivet Optic.]
Richard and Marguerite (Raymond) Kinney gave birth to Beverly Jean Kinney in or around Kalamazoo, Michigan. The date of her birth would have perhaps been around 1934, because she is listed as a "great grandchild" in the Obituary of Frank M. Sheldon who died in 1935.
Both Gordon Raymond and Frank Sheldon were members of the Partello Band (see other message). In a recenly located article about the Partello Band, it noted that Gordon Raymond was 6' 4" and would march along side a young Burt Oxby who was very short, causing a comical stir amongst the audience.
