I have information on the Maddens of Cane Creek.Alexander Madden and wife Patsy (James) migrated from Orange Co., NC, around 1810.Apparently his children were William, Elisha A., Monroe "Wiley," Hosea, and John A.
Alexander's brother, Andrew, also settled in Jackson Co., TN, briefly and then moved to Jefferson Co., TN, and finally to Callaway Co, MO.His first wife may have been Mary Passwater married 1801 in Iredell Co., NC.His 2nd wife was Rebecca Roark, whom he married in Orange Co., NC, 31 Jan 1807. It is possible that there were two Andrew Maddens or an Andrew Maiden who migrated to Indiana, since Donna Hay has conflicting information.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Madden married Joseph Allison in Orange Co., NC, and they lived in Smith Co., TN.
Samuel married Elizabeth "Eliza" Allison. They may have moved to Benton Co., TN, for a time.
Jonathan "John" W. Madden married Jean Guthrie 10 Dec 1801 in Orange Co., NC, and moved to Humphreys Co., TN.
Margaret "Peggy" Madden married Elijah S. Ellis 17 Jan 1798 in Orange Co., NC, and moved to Putnam Co., TN.
Apparently the Maddens first settled in Orange Co., NC, in 1759 and bought land on 10 May 1759.
I have lots of documented information if you are interested.I would like to share information with anyone who is researching the Maddens of Orange Co., NC, Tennessee, or Boone/Callaway Co., MO.
