Nils Andreas Madsen from Norway to North Dakota about 1897
I'm looking for my great-grandfather's brother, who emigrated from Norway to North Dakota at the end of the 19th century.

He was born on September 29, 1877, on the small island Langøya (Langø) in the Batalden islands of Kinn parish, Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway.
He was christened Nils Andreas.
Since his father's name was Mads, he would usually have been called Madsen (Madssen, Matsen, Matssen) in Norway. Another likely surname would have been Langø, after his place of birth.
His parents were called Mads Andreas Andersen and Anne Juditte Aleksandersdatter. His siblings remained in Norway; they were called Oleanne, Anders (my great-grandfather), and Samson.
The first emigration record I've found has him leaving Bergen on October 21, 1897, by the Allan line.
At the time of the Norwegian 1900 census, he was back home visiting his mother. The census states that he was a farmer in North Dakota.
He left from Bergen again on April 2, 1901, by the Cunard line.
He was unmarried at the time.
I've not been able to track him in the USA. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
