LOVERS IN YOUTH: WED AT 60
Romance of Forty Years Ago Culminated in Marriage
Kingston, N. Y.--The marriage in this city the other night of George Faulkner, 62 years old, and Mrs. Sarah E. Seymour, 61 years old, both of Schuyler, Neb., it is learned was the culmination of a romance that began in Ulster county more than 40 years ago. Faulkner was a native of Kingston and Mrs. Seymour was a native of Saugerties, 12 miles from here. They became engaged in their youth, but a lovers’ quarrel separated them and each married some one else. The wife of Mr. Faulkner and the husband of Mrs. Seymour both died within three years, and Mr. Faulkner and Mrs. Seymour each moved to a different part of the country.Recently each moved to Schuyler, Neb. And last week came east by different routes. They met on the Hudson river steamer Hendrik Hudson as she was landing at Kingston Point, and after a brief talk at Kingston Point park they procured a marriage license from City Clerk Commins and were married by Rev. Wilbur F. Stowe.Mrs. Faulkner’s first husband was a cousin of Gov. Horatio Seymour.
