Martin Smith was a native of Ohio. He settled on the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of section 20. DAYTON , RICHLAND CO WI. He then moved toNebraska. Martin Smith and Amelia (Risser)Smith came from the East and settled near Boaz in the former Hube Berry Farm. They had three sons, Orange and Grant, who later moved to Lyons, Nebraska, and Freeman, who settled in North Tonawanda, New York.They also had three daughters, Matilda, Hattie and Alwilda. Matilda married a man named Carson and lived in Idaho.Alwilda was born on April 26 1857 ( in N. Y. ). Her mother's place of birth is listed as Pennsylvania in the1900 cencus. Alwildadied March 17, 1934 in Richland County, Wis.Alwilda married my Great Grandfather Patrick Daly. I'd like to know more about the Smith's from NE. Does anyone have a connection to this family?
