I've only recently looked at Dodge Co., having found that my g-grandfather lived there for a short while, and (I believe) his sister married and stayed there. I've since been told vague references to other relatives as well.
I'm hoping to find out what sources within Dodge Co. might be available that could go the furthest in determining these connections. Part of my problem is that my g-grandfather (and sister?) have surname WILL, which makes searches tough! Below is what I know (and believe I know). -----
William WILL (b: JUN 1, 1881 in Holstein, Germany, son of Henry WILL & Wilhelmina HILLA), emigrated to US in around 1875 and lived in Dodge County during 1880 census (Everett Township) and possibly as long as 1875-1883 before moving to Davenport, IA. His sister(?) "Lizzy" WILL (b: ~1858) also lived in Dodge County during 1880 census, probably emigrated with brother William. She appears to be the Elise/Ezelia that married Henry GERKE around 1882 (based on age/location, etc.) and lived there until her death in 1925 (St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church Cemetery - Scribner). There is also mention about relations in Dodge County in the DAHL family.
Any relations in Dodge County are not "directly" to William, so my concentration is on Lizzie (GERKE?) WILL, his supposed sister. I'm hoping someone might know about husband Henry GERKE, or have information to better identify Lizzie's relation to the WILL family. I also want to find a connection to the DAHL family, either through another sibling married in 1875-1880 before the 1880 census (or even earlier back in Germany), or through later marriage to a child of Henry & Lizzie GERKE.
