The Wyoming Territorial Prision Historic Site is seeking information on James Marsh and his family for our historical exhibits at the site.
James Marsh was Warden from 1890-1896.His family continlued his work for a short period of time after he passed away in 1896 while at Blue Springs, Gage County, NE, where he is buried at Blue Springs Cemetery.In additon, his wife, Mary and daughter, Clara, are buried there.
James Marsh married Mary Elizabeth Bull in 1864 in NY.They emigrated to Beatrice, Nebraska, in 1866.They had the following children:
Nellie MARSH born 1865 (MARRIED:GILREST) Jessie MARSH Frederick or Fred MARSH 1869/70 (MARRIED:BULL) Fannie MARSH 1879-1910 (MARRIED:SETTELE AND MCGILL) Irvin W MARSH 1875-1975 (MARRIED:DELL0 Cora MARSH 1881 (MARRIED: NORTON) Clara MARSH 1881-1887 Charles A. MARSH 1884-?
We are attempting to find any information on any of these families, but especially the obituaries for all of them, especially James, Mary and Clara who are buried at Blue Springs Cemetery in Gage County, NE.
The children can be found in Wyoming, Nebraska, California, Colorado.
