Funeral services for Mr. Tilson were held Monday afternoon from the Methodist church in Lexington, being in charge of Rev. Hunter, and interment was made in the Elwood cemetery. A large number of former neighbors and friends from Elwood and vicinity were in attendance at the services.
Mr. Tilson has contributed much to Gosper county. Starting with the open prairie he planted trees and built good improvements on his farms. His faith in the country was unlimited. For many years he taught a Sunday school class in the Elwood Methodist church and was active in all departments of church work.
