FUNERAL SERVICES SATURDAY FOR MRS. EMMA LEAR
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Lear who passed away at Hord Memorial Hospital Wednesday, November 28, at the age of 76.
The Rev. Melvin Zichek conducted the services at the Solt Funeral home. Pallbearers were Orville Bessey, Harry Boulton, Joe Bloom, Neal Erickson, Arthur Lovejoy, Victor Nelson. Burial was in the Central City cemetery.
Mrs. John C. Hruza sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" accompanied by Mrs. Walter R. Raecke.
Emma Elizabeth Lear was born June 2, 1880, in Hamilton county to August and Charlotte Page. She received her early education in Hamilton county later moving to Merrick county near Chapman and there completed her education. The Page family later moved to the Clarks community where they were living at the time Emma was married to Albert D. Lear on July 19 1906, in Grand Island, and since has made her home permanently in Central City.
Mrs. Lear was a member of the Chapman Baptist church and a past member of the Central City Woman's club and Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her husband, Albert, and one daughter, Mrs. Iva Larson of Central City; three grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews and a host of other more distant relatives. She was preceded in death by three infant sons; six brothers; five sisters and both her parents. ____________________
