I found John Ramsey and his family in the 1880 and 1885 censuses.
On June 15, 1880 they were living in the north part of Arago Precinct. This would be near the county line. The family consisted of John, 26, born in PA, Virginia, 20, born in NE, and son Lesley, 1, also born in NE.
On June 12, 1885, they were still in Arago Precinct. At this time the family consisted of John, 30, Jenny, 25, and children: Leslie, age 6, Vivie, age 4, Lodlo, age 2, and Elford, age 1 mo.The children were all born in NE.
John's occupation in both censuses is listed as "farmer."
The town of Rulo is in the S.E. part of the county, while Arago Precinct is in the N.E.Both are on the Missouri River.
I hope this information is helpful.
