Seeking information on the early DAYMUDE family. Some data from LDS-IGI Search indicates a location for the family of Benedict, York County, Nebraska.Oral history has Alice's Sister Laura DAYMUDE marrying a LABART. The sister and family stayed in the Kearney, Nebraska area while Alice and Andrew P. HANSEN, about 1883, moved, with their children, to Oregon to homestead in 1891. Alice died in childbirth about 1897.All her daughters became orphans, while the older boys stayed with the father.
Alice and Laura's father was possibly a William Burr Daymude.Found a Laura and Rosa DAYMUDE listed in WWW Site as being in a Soldiers and Orphans home in Davenport, Iowa in 1867, with father listed as Wm. B. DAYMUDE.(I failed to jot down enough information to retrace my way to the WWW site to see if I could get a copy of the listing of these orphans for the family history. Now it appears these are the ancestors I was looking for.Rats!)
Have letter that indicates Laura DAYMUDE Labart's son, Ralph LABART, had later moved to Oregon (was in Myrtle Point in the 1960s) and had contacted many of the children of Alice DAYMUDE Hansen - his cousins.
Seeking copies of photos, bible entries, and that sort of thing to put a family history together.
