Astle in New Hampshire by 1870 from Warwick, Quebec
The 1870 census found Edwin (aged 43) and Sarah (38) Astle in Northumberland, Coos, New Hampshire with 8 children: John L. (16), Salinda (14), Joseph C. (13), Adah (10), Austin (8), James E. (6), Henry W. (3) and Sarah (1).
Joseph Ceylon, son of Edwin Astle of Warwick & Sarah Nutting his wife, was born 28 Dec 1857 and baptized the following April. Sarah N. Astle and James T. Astle were witnesses. From the records of the Congregational Church, Danville, Quebec in the Drouin Collection published on Ancestry.com.
I would like to know if this family connects to any of the other Astle(s) families of Quebec and/or to any in New Hampshire or Vermont in the late 1800s. A message (2483) posted by M. Ford in 2000 in the Vermont forum entitled "Astle in Vt" seems to refer to a related family but there has been no follow up to that message. The text follows.
“Looking for descendants/info for:

Oscar Astle; Ashley Astle (Littleton. NH). Parents James Thomas Astle and Rachel Olney (Nutting)who moved from Shipton/Warwick/Durham areas of Quebec, to Lower Waterford, VT, circa 1861.”
