Hi Steve. I thought that I'd sent you a note regarding this, but since I haven't heard from you, I can only assume that I had not sent the information. The Dupuis dit Gilbert line that I am associated with, kept the Gilbert name. They are descended from Gilbert Dupuis de Rosay, Diocese de Bourges, France, through his son Jean Dupuis dit Gilbert and Jeanne Sedillot dit Montreuil(m. 2/11/1742 Ste. Foye, Quebec)>Joseph Gilbert and Louise Mathieu(m. 10/11/1790 St. Joseph, Beauce)>Etienne Gilbert and Marie Louise Belanger(m. 8/26/1824 Ste. Marie, Beauce)>Honoré Gilbert and Marie Adeline Vallee(m. 8/7/1866 Ste. Marie, Beauce)>Odule Gilbert and Isilda Côté(my g-aunt and uncle). Odule and Isilda ran a general store in Graniteville, Vermont. He came from a pretty big family: Odule, Jean, Arthur, Joseph, Eugene, Eugenie, Charles, Eustache, Lida. Joseph was involved in the grocery business, Charles was a barber, Arthur went on to become a priest, and eventually a monsiegnor in Moors Forks, N.Y., Eugenie was sickly and died as a teenager, many of the boys were involved in farming, as was the way of things back then. You don't have a marriage date and place for Odule and Isilda by chance, so you? Hope this helps.
